
Weighing in at just 850kg, The New Mazda MX-5 GT race cars will accelerate from 0-to-60mph in just three seconds and hit a top speed of 160mph. Building the car is a technical challenge to the weight gain to minimize use of Mazda’s gram strategy as the inspiration. Jota Sport examined every nut and bolt components to reduce weight and then power to match the weight to the lightest and most powerful ever built New Mazda MX-5 GT Cars.

Jota Sport, race car engineering team that is running in the series MSA British Britcar Endurance Championship in 2011, has 400 hours in a shell to build a specification that ensures it is 17 times stronger than required by the FIA. During the development they faced a number of engineering challenges such as suspension adjustments, integrating the six speed sequential gearbox, and lowering the engine. Weight saving strategies such as, the removal of interior components, reducing component weight and dipping the shell in acid lost 15kg from the New Mazda MX-5 GT Cars race car.

Complete New Mazda MX-5 GT Cars comes with the Mazda engine is modified to 275bhp, six speed sequential paddle shift gearbox, doors and windows produce Polycarbonate carbon. On the exterior, the New Mazda MX-5 GT Cars boasts a Spirited Green metallic body colour – a first on the New Mazda MX-5 GT Cars for Mazda UK – complimented by Jota Sport corporate coloured liveries in orange and grey.

New Mazda MX-5 GT Cars car produced by the Tunbridge Wells based Jota Sport has the mandatory FIA-approved safety equipment including roll cage, racing seats and reins, external power supply cut-off and fire safety catch on the hood and trunk, competition alloy wheels and steering wheel, while the drive has as gearbox, rear and the engine is modified to improve performance.
